Evelyn's Hope Chest by Carrie Quinn for Marcus Fabrics
A beautiful packed Jacobean floral print from the Smithsonian was the starting point for this group by Carrie Quinn (Pieceful Gathering Quilt Shop). Carrie also took inspiration from the Lane hope chests that were popular in the 1960s and 1970s, mostly storing quilts that were largely stitched by hand at the time and saved for marriage. The collection is named after Carrie's youngest granddaughter, Evelyn, who loves pink.
"I wanted to concentrate on soft pinks and chocolate browns, with red accents. I don't expect Evie to save the quilt that I will make her for marriage, but I am hoping she will love it, as a special reminder of her 'Grama.'"
