Beginning Quilting
Come and learn to quilt. This class is 9 weeks long, starting September 16 - running on Saturdays through December 9. Start at the very beginning. Learn about quilting tools and how to choose fabric. Learn to accurately cut and piece your quilt top. Then learn to quilt and bind. At the end of this class you will have a completed quilt, start to finish.
Basic knowledge of your machine like how to thread it and how to wind a bobbin are necessary.

Name of Class: Beginning Quilting
Instructor: Linda Kemp
Class Objectives: Learn to cut blocks with rotary cutter, sewing a ¼” seam, how to press, completing patchwork blocks & assembling quilt top. How to machine quilt top and attach binding. Add to label to commemorate your quilt.
Included in the Class Sign Up are: 9 classes at the shop, book with the pattern and instructions, and ALL fabrics to make the quilt (fabrics include all fabrics to make the quilt top, backing fabric, binding fabric and batting).
Sewing Supplies:
Machine in good working order – You need to know how to operate your machine. If you need a refresher course, please consider taking the Get To Know Your Machine class.
Power cord & foot pedal
Special feet: ¼” and open toe or A foot – ¼” foot a must.
Rotary cutter, mat & ruler (at least 6” x 12” or 6” x 18” or 6” x 24”)
Matching sewing thread (100% cotton is best)
Extra machine needles
Bobbins
Basic Sewing Supplies like pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.
80-100 1 ½” safety pins
Masking tape
Pencil
