Socky by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics
Sock Monkeys have been around since the late 1800's. During the Depression Sock Monkeys were at the height of their popularity. In 1920, a Sock Monkey was constructed out of a pair of Rockford Red Heel Socks and sent to the company, Nelson Knitting Mills. The company thought it was a genius idea and Nelson started including Sock Monkey instructions with every pair of Rockford Red Heel Socks they sold. This lighthearted collection pays tribute to that original sock monkey design. It is filled with patterns of adorable sock monkeys, tossed bananas and assorted polka dots and stripes. It is the ideal collection for both young and old. Have fun with this playful collection and make something that will be passed on to future generations of sock monkey lovers.
