Class Information & Supply List
Name of Class: Edge to Edge quilting with embroidery machine on June 6th from 10-1.
Instructor: Marcia Nicol
Class Objectives: To learn how to quilt using your embroidery machine
Pattern: Any book with Edge to Edge patterns by Amelia Scott Designs.
Special tools: As listed on back.
Fabric Requirements: As listed on the back. Directions will be given in class on how to turn your edge to edge quilt sample into a tote bag.
Machine in good working order
Power cord & foot pedal
Special feet: embroidery foot
Rotary cutter, mat & ruler
Extra machine needles
Basic Sewing Supplies like pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.
To do before class: As listed on the back.
Load the design that you want to stitch onto your USB stick. Be sure to load both the A and B design and ensure that they are both the same size.
For the class sample:
1 yard kona solid colored cotton for front
1 yard kona solid colored cotton for the back
craft size quilter's dream request batting
thread that will show up well on sample fabric
Solid colored fabric enough for two hoopings ( your hoop size plus 1" on each side
stabilizer - enough for two hoopings ( your hoop size plus 1" on each side) We used tear away medium weight
top stitch needles #90
clover 1/2" double sided basting tape
needle with large eye
marking pen - can be find tip sharpie
scissors for cutting fabric
bobbins with good quality bobbin thread
Make a quilt sandwich with the front, back and batting material. Leave selvage on fabric.
Pin together with basting pins or spray. You can leave a 13" column down the center from selvage to selvage unpinned. The first column will be stitched down the center of the quilt sandwich. Selvage will be at the top and bottom.
